Budgam, May 03, 2026:Social-Political Activist Er. Nazir Ahmad Yatoo has welcomed the timely initiative taken by the Hon’ble Lieutenant Governor of Jammu & Kashmir, Manoj Sinha, to address the growing issue of drug abuse in the region.
In a statement issued today, Er. Yatoo described the move as a significant step towards protecting the youth and strengthening society. He noted that drug addiction continues to pose serious health and social challenges, particularly for the younger generation.
He also praised the Pad Yatra (peace march) held today at Lal Chowk, calling it an inspiring example of community participation. He appreciated the involvement of youth, civil society members, and volunteers who united to raise awareness against drug abuse.
Er. Yatoo emphasized the need for more such initiatives across districts and villages to expand awareness and encourage collective action.
“Community participation and awareness at the grassroots level are essential to overcome this challenge and build a healthier society,” he said.
He reaffirmed his commitment to supporting all efforts aimed at tackling drug abuse and urged citizens to actively contribute to this cause
